eBook Design and TypesettingDesigning an ebook— one still needs to take into consideration many of the same items as when a book will go to print. Namely, there still has to be a continuity between cover and interior etc. Colors/images/typeface still have to reflect the content.The big difference between the two being the medium in which you now view the book. Printing issues are now off the table and that cost is has been eliminated. Books have been have been black print on white background for centuries but now more color can be used throughtout the book creating more virancy and excitement on each page. A white or light colored background is still going to be important as ease of reading is still of the utmost importance. Interior book design and typesetting—the art of laying out a manuscript—is just that: an art. It is also a science. Interior book design is a skill that improves with experience, "the difference between doing it yourself and hiring a professional”—using the oft-repeated phrase—is clear.
